覚えておきたい表現・フレーズ
It’s funny you should ask, because ~ 聞いてくれて面白いタイミングだね、実は〜 → ちょうど話題にしようと思っていたことを話す時の便利な前置き。
that’s a really famous landmark that everyone knows それは誰もが知っているとても有名な名所だ → that everyone knows(誰もが知っている)。
this was not the first time I’ve been to ~ 〜に行ったのはこれが初めてではなかった → not the first time ~(初めてではない)。
I think I’ve probably visited most of the famous ones. 有名なところはほとんど行ったと思う → most of ~(〜のほとんど)。
it’s good to see the building その建物を見るのはいいことだ → it’s good to do ~(〜するのはいいことだ)。
it’s kind of interesting to see it from the inside 内側から見るのはなんだか面白い → kind of(なんだか、ちょっと)。
I love going up and down the river on a boat. 船で川を行き来するのが大好き → go up and down ~(〜を行ったり来たりする)。
it has a kind of spooky feeling なんだか不気味な雰囲気がある → spooky(不気味な、幽霊が出そうな)。
I can’t wait to talk about this! これについて話すのが待ちきれない! → can’t wait to do ~(〜するのが待ちきれない)。
it looks like it’s from a storybook まるで絵本の中から出てきたように見える → look like it’s from ~(〜から出てきたように見える)。
you can feel the history 歴史を感じることができる → feel the history(歴史を肌で感じる)。
that sounds exciting それは面白そうだね → sound + 形容詞(〜のように聞こえる)。
it gives you an idea of how people used to live 昔の人々がどう暮らしていたかが分かる → give + 人 + an idea of ~(〜についての理解を与える)。
it can be quite exhausting though でもかなり疲れることもある → though(文末に置いて「でも」という意味を添える)。
it’s not fully known how they did it どうやってそれを作ったのかは完全には分かっていない → it’s not fully known how ~(〜かは完全には分かっていない)。
we’re out of time もう時間がない → be out of time(時間切れだ)。
