- housework(名詞)家の中でやるべき仕事全般(掃除・洗濯・料理など)の総称

覚えておきたい表現・フレーズ
a little bit tired, but yeah, I’m good. ちょっと疲れているけど元気だよ → a little bit + 形容詞(少し〜)。
get the house ready 家の準備を整える → get + 目的語 + 形容詞(〜の状態にする)。
We share out the housework. 家事を分担している → share out ~(〜を分配する、分担する)。
make sure I was cleaning the kitchen キッチンを確実に掃除するようにする → make sure ~(必ず〜するようにする)。
a shared flat / housemates シェアハウス / ルームシェアしている人 → shared(共有の)、housemate(同居人)。
communal areas 共用スペース → communal(共同の、共有の)。
wipe the surfaces / wipe away the crumbs 表面を拭く / パンくずを拭き取る → wipe(拭く)、wipe away(拭き取って取り除く)。
that’s a really impressive system それは本当によく考えられた仕組みだね → impressive(感心させる、見事な)。
we run out of time 時間が足りなくなる → run out of ~(〜を使い果たす、切らす)。
there’s so many other things we would rather be doing 他にやりたいことがたくさんある → would rather do(むしろ〜したい)。
a job that comes to mind immediately すぐに思い浮かぶ仕事 → come to mind(頭に浮かぶ)。
rub it and scrub it really hard すごくゴシゴシこすって磨く → rub(こする)、scrub(ゴシゴシ洗う)。
keep their rooms tidy 部屋を片付けた状態に保つ → keep + 目的語 + 形容詞(〜の状態を保つ)。
help out 手伝う → help out(手を貸す、サポートする)。
you really appreciate a clean space 清潔な空間のありがたみが本当にわかる → appreciate(価値を認める、ありがたく思う)。
I was terrible as a teenager. 10代の頃はひどかった → as a teenager(10代の頃は)。
that can sometimes be really satisfying それは時々本当に満足感がある → satisfying(満足のいく、達成感のある)。
in one load 一回の洗濯で(まとめて) → load(洗濯機などの一回分の量)。
Teenage Georgie would be so disappointed. 10代の頃の自分が知ったらがっかりするだろうな → 過去の自分を主語にして今の変化を面白く語る言い方。
特に使えそうな3つ(重点復習)
